Vanilla custard


Makes: 1 L

Ingredients:

  • 200 mL Glucerna Ready-to-Drink
  • 1 1⁄2 cups full cream milk
  • 300 mL thickened cream
  • 2 tsp vanilla essence
  • 5 egg yolks
  • 2.5 tbsp corn flour
  • 180 g caster sugar

Method:

  1. Place milk, Glucerna and cream into a saucepan and heat until hot (be careful not to boil)
  2. Whisk together sugar, corn flour and egg yolks. Pour on hot milk and whisk well to combine.
  3. Add vanilla essence to mixture and return to gentle heat and stir until thickened
  4. Serve hot or cold.

Please note when cooking with or freezing Glucerna, there may be minor loss of some nutrients.
